Thomas Foster wins 2024 Pitch Competition at the Bridge Program Symposium
Congratulations to Curtin Medical School PhD student Thomas Foster, who won the 2024 Pitch Competition at the Bridge Program Symposium last week.
Run by the Queensland University of Technology, the Bridge Program is an annual collaboration among pharmaceutical companies, universities and industry partners, providing 100 selected participants from across Australia with training in pharmaceutical commercialisation. The three-day symposium concluded with a pitch competition where participants presented scientific concepts as potential ventures for investment.
Mr Foster delivered a winning pitch on gene and drug delivery for hearing loss in children with cancer, drawing from research by Dr Hani Al-Salami, Dr Armin Mooranian and Dr Daniel Brown from Curtin Medical School in collaboration with Professor Jafri Kuthubutheen from the Department of Health. Special thanks also to Alishum Ali, Rohan McDougall and Danelle Cross from IP Commercialisation and Corina Ionescu from Curtin Medical School for their support and guidance.
