Three members of Curtin’s pharmacy community were recently recognised at PSA25, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s (PSA) national conference.

Emeritus Professor Jeff Hughes received the 2025 PSA Symbion Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his extraordinary contributions to pharmacy for more than 40 years. As the former Head of the School of Pharmacy from 2009 to 2014, he was recognised by PSA for a career “defined by sustained excellence, innovation and mentorship” and a legacy that “continues to shape the future of pharmacy in Australia and beyond”.

Fourth-year student Maxime Watts won the 2025 PSA Viatris Pharmacy Student of the Year (PSOTY) award after having progressed through the Curtin and WA rounds of the competition to the national final. Maxime also won the People’s Choice award, as voted by PSA25 delegates.

Topping off a successful weekend for Curtin, 2018 Master of Pharmacy graduate Jade Swarbrick won the award for the best research paper at the conference.

Congratulations to Professor Hughes, Maxime and Jade on their outstanding recognition on the national stage.
