The Population Biology and Genomics group recently hosted an engaging forum to foster collaboration between Curtin University and the Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute (WABSI) urban biodiversity program.

Chaired by Professor Ben Phillips, the event featured insightful presentations with experts from both organisations highlighting key themes, focus areas and research capabilities in the urban biodiversity space. Topics covered by Curtin speakers included landscape genomics, biodiversity-sensitive urban design, urban ecology, eDNA monitoring and the Green Plot Ratio.

Attendees actively participated in discussions about ongoing projects and potential collaboration opportunities. The forum aimed to drive initiatives for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development, promising exciting prospects for innovation and meaningful change.

Thank you to Professor Phillips and Curtin speakers Dr Brenton von Takach, Dr Holly Kirk, Associate Professor Bill Bateman, Dr Boon Ong and Josh Newton, and all staff involved in this event.
