Psychological & Counselling Services
Curtin’s team of trained psychologists provide one on one support to students for any issues affecting their life and study. There are also a range of group programs and workshops for students as well as self-help resources. Visit the Supporting Students Wellbeing page for more information about how to get in touch.
The Living Room
The Living Room is a drop-in wellbeing service staffed by trained student peer workers who offer early support to students with academic pressures, personal stress, and adjusting to uni life. A mental health professional is available on site if additional support is needed. The service will be open to all Curtin students — no appointment or referral is required. Commencing mid March students will be able to drop in to Building 401, Room 161 between 10am–2pm. (This post will be updated once an opening date is confirmed)
Please note that The Living Room is not a crisis service. Students experiencing a mental health emergency or in high levels of distress should not be directed here.

Student Wellbeing Advisors
The student wellbeing team sits in building 101 and is often one of the first points of contact for students in need of wellbeing support. They provide a confidential 1 on 1 service to help students receive the support they need across campus or in the community.
If you need to refer a student, please complete the referral form, alternatively direct students to the Current Students website for further contact information.

AccessAbility Services
Curtin’s AccessAbility Services provides a range of supports for students with disability, medical or mental health conditions, and for students who are carers for a person with disability, where these impact their studies.
Students meet with an AccessAbility Advisor for a one-on-one consultation about the supports available to meet their individual needs. Support could include developing a Curtin Access Plan, assistive technologies, materials in alternate formats, and campus access, amongst many others.
Neurodivergent students on the autism spectrum can also be supported by peer mentors through the Curtin Specialist Mentoring Program.

Complex Case Management
The Student Complex Case Manager (SCCM) supports Curtin’s response to Gender‑Based Violence in alignment with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender‑Based Violence. The SCCM also participates in Curtin’s Safer Community Response Group (SCRG), contributing to university‑wide risk management to support student safety, wellbeing and engagement.
Students experiencing significant, multi‑layered or high‑risk wellbeing concerns can receive coordinated support through this service. The SCCM provides confidential, trauma‑informed case coordination for students whose circumstances require sustained oversight, cross‑service collaboration or enhanced safety planning. This includes coordinating tailored wellbeing plans, liaising with external services, and facilitating communication across Curtin support teams.
