Q1 What broad or central facilities, programs and resources need to be covered in Faculty and School sessions?
There are central sessions which you can refer students to for more detailed information rather than having to spend significant time covering general transition concepts. Check the Central Program to see what’s offered.
Q2 Are campus tours offered to students during O-Week?
Yes! However, these are optional Student Services Tours delivered by O-Week volunteers and are intended to be broad and include tips from a peer perspective. It might be beneficial to provide a tour of the relevant teaching precinct to introduce new students to Faculty or School specific facilities.
Q3 Why consider student demographics and entry pathways during Orientation?
Understanding your incoming cohort helps you tailor Orientation content, delivery and support to meet students where they are and improve engagement.
Start by reviewing available cohort data and identifying who your students are.
You may like to consider the impacts of varying student pathways, student demographics and entry / academic readiness.
