What is AWMS?
The Academic Workload Management System (AWMS) is a workload allocation system for senior Academic staff. It requires the Head of School to exercise judgement in the allocation of academic workload within the following framework of:
- achieving a reasonable total workload
- existing performance management
- school planning and
- resource management processes in the University.

Academic Workload Allocation Planning Tool
The Academic Workload Allocation Planning Tool is a software application developed to assist Heads of School and academic staff with workload allocation.
How does the allocation tool work?
- Users enter information related to workloads after completing Performance and Career Planning conversations.
- The application calculates workload based on the AWMS categories and system allocations.
- Data is brought into the system from Student One and Ascender Pay.
