Curtin academic’s memoir in the running for richest literary prize
After being previously listed in two of Australia’s leading literary prizes, Dr Khin Myint’s book Fragile Creatures: A Memoir continues its well-deserved run of national recognition.
This time, Dr Myint’s memoir has been shortlisted for the 2025 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards within the non-fiction category.
The prestigious awards are known for having the richest literary prize in the nation, with both winners and shortlisted authors sharing in a tax-free prize pool of $600,000. The winner of each category will receive an incredible $80,000 prize.
Fragile Creatures was completed as part of a creative practice-led PhD supervised by Dr David Whish-Wilson and Dr Thor Kerr.
Congratulations to Dr Myint on his book’s continued success in the literary space, as well as both Dr Whish-Wilson and Dr Kerr on their contributions to the work.
