The Performance and Career Planning process promotes a culture of continuous learning and career development, applying the principles of growth, feedback and accountability to the way that we work, and demonstrating our commitment to developing and retaining the talents of academic staff. It is intended to be an interactive process designed to encourage trust and regular, open communications.
The Performance and Career Planning process is aligned with our Academic Capability Framework which guides all of our academic activities and processes, including career development, performance review, reward and recognition, promotion and confirmation, recruitment and selection, and workforce planning.

Thought starters
Your Academic Performance and Career Plan should be aligned with your role and the relevant parts of the Academic Capability Framework (ACF) in Teaching, Research and Engagement.
Here are some example questions you may wish to consider when preparing the work plan. Remember that you are only asked to address capability areas relevant to you (these examples are simply meant as a prompt – they are far from comprehensive and are not meant to be directive). Refer to the ACF for more guidance.
