Inherent Requirements

Inherent Requirements

Inherent requirements (IR) are the essential components of a course or unit that demonstrate the abilities, knowledge and skills required to achieve the core learning outcomes of the course or unit. Curtin embraces diversity, welcomes, and supports all students in their pursuit of higher education.

Curtin commits to:

  • enabling students to access and to participate in further education.
  • advising prospective and current students of any inherent requirements.

How does Curtin do this?

  • By eliminating unlawful discrimination, and providing reasonable adjustments where needed.

Why does Curtin do this?

  • To assist students in making an informed decision about whether a particular course is suitable for them, before undertaking a course or component of a course.
